What are the prerequisites?
In principle, you can take part in skipper training without previous experience. For the best learning results, however, you should already know the basics of sailing.
Which textbook do you recommend?
We recommend the book “Hafenmanöver Schritt für Schritt” by Lars Bolle and the YACHT webinars.
What happens if there is no wind?
When there is no wind, the programme focuses on manoeuvres under engine and seamanship.
Which boat is used for skipper training?
Skipper training takes place on a 10-metre Bavaria 37 Cruiser. It has furling sails and a 27 hp diesel engine. It does not have a bow thruster. Find more information about the sailing yacht here.
